Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
These terms govern your use of NoteStack, a Chrome extension and companion website operated by StackTree Labs(“we,” “us”). By installing or using NoteStack, you agree to these terms.
What NoteStack is
NoteStack is a Chrome extension that reads your own Substack Notes data (through your existing, logged-in Substack session) to provide analytics, scheduling, and AI-assisted writing tools. Core analytics features are free. NoteStack Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks unlimited use of Ghostwriter, Scheduler Pro, Spy Mode, AI generation, and AI Post Coach — see Pricing for current details.
NoteStack is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Substack Inc. “Substack” is a trademark of its respective owner.
Eligibility & your account
You need your own Substack account to use NoteStack — we don't create or manage Substack accounts. You're responsible for maintaining the security of your Substack and Google Chrome sessions. NoteStack is not directed at children under 13.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer or resell NoteStack; use it to violate Substack's own terms of service; attempt to circumvent free-tier usage limits or Pro entitlement checks; or use the AI features to generate content that is illegal, abusive, or infringes on others' rights. We may suspend access for accounts that abuse the service, including automated or excessive API usage that risks Substack rate-limiting other users.
NoteStack Pro subscriptions & billing
NoteStack Pro is billed monthly or yearly through Paddle, our merchant of record, who handles billing, tax, and payment security. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. See our Refund Policy for cancellations and refunds.
AI-generated content
Ghostwriter, AI Post Coach, and the AI prompt templates use third-party AI models to generate suggestions and draft text. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to publish any AI-assisted content — NoteStack never posts anything to Substack automatically without your explicit action, and we make no guarantee about the accuracy, quality, or originality of AI-generated output.
Intellectual property
We own NoteStack's code, design, and branding. You retain all rights to your own Notes and content — we don't claim any ownership over what you write or generate using NoteStack.
Disclaimer & limitation of liability
NoteStack is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for changes Substack makes to its own API or website that affect NoteStack's functionality, for decisions you make based on NoteStack's analytics or AI suggestions, or for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension. Our total liability for any claim relating to NoteStack is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $0 if you're on the free tier).
Termination
You can stop using NoteStack at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms. Uninstalling deletes your locally-stored data (see our Privacy Policy); an active Pro subscription is unaffected by uninstalling and should be cancelled separately if you no longer want to be billed.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as NoteStack evolves. Material changes will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of NoteStack after a change means you accept the updated terms.
